Become a Morning Person.
How do you start your day? It is with a ‘Hell Yeah’ or an ‘Oh F**k’?
For years, my alarm would jolt me awake—only for me to hit snooze and groan, ‘Oh f**k.’ I was NOT a morning person.
Trust me, if I can change that, so can you. (Maybe you’re already ahead of the game! If so, I salute you. If not, keep reading.)
The Power of an Extra Hour
Waking up just an hour earlier than usual gives you precious time. If you’re anything like me, you have things you want to do—things that make you feel good—but time always seems to slip away. If I don’t meditate first thing, I tell myself I’ll do it later… but later never comes.
Everything else takes priority, even though I KNOW meditation makes my whole day 100% better.
So how do you become a morning person and carve out an hour just for YOU?
Prepare the night before
If you want to wake up early, go to bed early. It’s not rocket science. Are you willing to trade an hour of late-night TV for an hour in the morning that could change your life? Skip that extra glass of wine if you want to wake up feeling good.
Before bed, try saying to yourself:
I have a deep and restful sleep.
I wake before my alarm.
I wake feeling fully refreshed.
Write them down if you want—affirmations work! The more you practice, the more you reinforce these beliefs.
Also, plan how you’ll use this extra hour so you’re ready to make the most of it.

My Morning Routine & Its Benefits
My routine changes over time, but right now, it looks like this:
Wake up with a daylight alarm. (I love my Lumie—absolute game-changer for winter mornings!)
20 minutes of guided breathing (I use Wim Hof’s method).
20 minutes of meditation (I’m currently into Joe Dispenza).
10 minutes of journaling (Gratitude + setting positive intentions for the day).
Movement (Yoga or stretching).
10 minutes of affirmations (I record them and listen on loop).
One crucial rule: No phone, no social media, and no news first thing in the morning.
In fact, I never watch or read the news. Some might say that makes me uninformed, but honestly, I feel like consuming it would only misinform me.
The first part of my day is my time—not a time to take on external stress.
Rewiring Your Morning Mindset
If you’re used to waking up and immediately dreading the day, it’s time to shift that mindset.
I used to wake up with a groan, but I trained my mind to feel positive about getting up. Now, I say things like:
I feel fully refreshed and ready to go!
Today is a wonderful day!
I love getting up early… woohoo!
Sounds a little “woo-woo”? Maybe. But it WORKS.
We use auto-suggestions all the time—usually in the negative without even realising it. Start affirming positively and see how your thoughts, beliefs, and life begin to shift.
Final Thoughts
If you struggle with mornings, treat yourself to a sunrise alarm clock. I can’t recommend mine enough!
That first hour of your day sets the tone and has a powerful ripple effect. So—how do you want to start yours?
It takes 21-28 days to build a habit. Are you up for the challenge? Let me know how it goes!
Since I started gifting myself this extra ‘power hour,’ life has shifted. Synchronicities happen more often. I feel calmer, more aligned, and at peace. My energy is higher, and I’m happier.
Try it for yourself. What have you got to lose?
Send me a message—I’d love to hear how it’s going!
Much love x
